Quotes:
Burnaby North MLA Richard T. Lee:
“From helping with crime prevention, training people in first aid, to providing assistance for those displaced by a fire or flood, these organizations provide outstanding service to our community and richly deserve this funding.”
Burnaby-Lougheed MLA Harry Bloy:
“The members of these organizations are some of Burnaby’s unsung heroes when it comes to public safety. We may not hear about them every day, but we would sure notice if they weren’t there. I’m very pleased to see them benefit from these grants.”
Why this matters:
Across British Columbia, 125 recipients will share $5,061,815 in this latest round of grants from provincial gaming revenue.
- All four Burnaby organizations benefitting from this round are being awarded grants under the public safety category.

- About 6,000 community groups across B.C. benefited from these funds.
